Context
In response to CSR initiatives and stricter regulations, Vertone was asked to develop an eco-design score and test it on a product offered by the group to the general public. Following this process, an AFNOR audit highlighted its innovative and impactful nature.
The company has once again approached Vertone to deploy the eco-design approach across its entire portfolio of energy and service offerings within the Consumer division.
Objective
Deploy a structured eco-design approach across the entire portfolio of energy and service offerings for the general public. The mission aimed to assess the CSR performance of the offerings using a common methodology, to identify potential improvement actions, and then to prioritize them based on their environmental and social impact, their value to customers, and the effort required for their implementation.
The ultimate goal was to build operational roadmaps to accelerate the deployment of priority eco-design actions.
Our approach
The process unfolded in four stages:
1/ Construction of two CSR scoring grids according to the Vertone Sustainability Score methodology: one for energy offers and one for service offers
2/ Organization of a workshop to score bids and identify eco-design actions to improve their score and CSR performance
3/ Scoring of eco-design actions according to three criteria: CSR impact (assessed by experts), company and partner effort (assessed by experts according to internal methodology) and customer value (via a study with a panel of French people to measure the interest of eco-design actions)
4/ Prioritization of eco-design actions based on the scores obtained, then organization of a second workshop to build the roadmap for deploying the priority actions
Results
- 10 energy and service offers scored according to the Vertone Sustainability Score methodology
- 23 eco-design actions identified to improve the CSR performance of offers
- Matrix-based scoring and strategic prioritization (effort/value) of these 23 eco-design actions
- Four deployment roadmaps built for four priority eco-design actions
